Year-Round Activities at Champion Hills

Written by Champion Hills | Mar 14, 2024 8:18:54 PM

At Champion Hills, we welcome the change of season. The crisp, fresh air of winter, the warm spring temperatures, the mild summer climate, and the beautiful foliage that fall brings. The changes in seasons are a major factor in relocating to this area. Golf, tennis, and outdoor activities are year-round at Champion Hills, as are indoor get-togethers, both formal and informal. Speaking of golf, our nationally-ranked Tom Fazio private course features bentgrass tees through greens, making it “green” year-round.

“We have so many members from the Midwest and the Northeast, and they love this time of year,” says Director of Membership and Marketing Heather Myers, CMP. “We really are in the ‘Goldilocks Zone’ where every season brings something unique and special.  Our members just love the change of seasons and that they can play golf or enjoy a multitude of events in our beautiful clubhouse year round.”

Myers highlights (more than) a few member-favorite events:

Thirsty Thursdays

For members who miss Thirsty Thursday, no problem. Once again, we’re able to offer this popular weekly get-together, featuring local craft beers, wines, and more. The Fazio Pub features unforgettable views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, a widely popular bar, multiple TVs, and the perfect atmosphere for bonding with other members.

Karaoke and Trivia Night

Maybe it has been a while since you’ve flexed your signing muscles; no worries, we’ve got you covered. Pick your favorite song and sing right along. Our members love to test their history, movies, pop culture knowledge, and more during trivia night. Both are fantastic (and contrasting) evenings for spending quality time with fellow members.

Theme Nights

Each Tuesday, we feature a different themed culinary adventure, including BBQ, burger, low country seafood, pub, and Mardi Gras nights.  Theme night Tuesdays have been well received and easily fill up social calendars in February and March. Informal and beyond fun, these events keep the good times rolling. And speaking of rolling, Disco Night is set for later this month. Bring your boogie shoes and get ready - John Travolta has nothing on the members here at Champion Hills!

Wine and Cheese Tasting

Each month, we select a new varietal of wines for members to sample and enjoy, perfectly paired by our Executive Chef with a few exotic cheese options. In January, we explored the world of Cabernet Sauvignon, and in February, we will experience Malbecs.  Based on member feedback, you just might see your favorites pop up on our wine menu!

And There’s More

Ladies’ Lunch kicks off their programming with a self-defense-focused class, Men’s Nights Out, Wine Dinners, Beer Dinner, and more are all on the menu this winter and spring. And, of course, there’s golf on our Fazio-designed masterpiece with multiple golf groups each week, Nine & Dines and The Chilly Challenge, as well as a robust schedule of Group Exercise Classes in our Wellness Center. An entire daily calendar of fun things to do can easily be filled up here at Champion Hills. Or our members take it as easy as they’d like. The choice is theirs this winter and beyond.
