Thirteen Champion Hills employees, and two employee dependents, will receive educational funds for the 2018-2019 academic year through the Champion Hills Scholarship Fund, totaling nearly $69,000 in tuition.
The Fund began in 2013 when an employee voiced his desire to return to school, but lacked the financial means, to a Champion Hills Club Member. The empathetic member, among many others, formed a committee that spearheaded the Fund. Since the inaugural year, a cumulative total of 235,000 has been awarded to Champion Hills employees.
The Fund is available to all Champion Hills employees in good standing, and in 2015, the committee made the scholarship available to employees' dependents as well. In fact, long-standing employee, the Golf Course Superintendent's twins both received educational assistance for their first year of college.
According to the Champion Hills leadership team, available scholarship opportunities and other benefits, such as golf course privileges, a competitive salary and benefits package, paid employee meals, retail discounts and seven paid holidays have proven to be great tools in attracting, recruiting and retaining high-performing employees and motivating seasonal staff to return to Champion Hills.
